Equipment

  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 Medium saucepan
  • 1 colander
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 set of measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 250 gram bow tie pasta
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves chopped

Instructions

  • Boil water in a large pot, add a pinch of salt, and cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain the pasta using a colander and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
  • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Stir in grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Add the cherry tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes until they begin to soften.
  • Toss in the cooked pasta and mix until well-coated with the creamy sauce.
  • Remove from heat, stir in fresh basil leaves, and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for a more intense flavor, and adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your spice preference. You can also add grilled chicken or shrimp for added protein. Make sure not to overcook the pasta; it should be al dente to hold its shape and texture in the creamy sauce.
