  • 1 Potato masher or electric mixer
  • 1 peeler
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Mixing spoon

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Peel and cube potatoes and place them in the crockpot.
  • Pour chicken broth over the potatoes in the crockpot.
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 4 hours or until potatoes are tender.
  • Drain any excess liquid from the crockpot.
  • Add sour cream, melted butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.
  • Mash the potatoes until smooth using a potato masher or electric mixer.
  • Mix thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are well combined.
  • Let the mashed potatoes rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve.

Notes

For extra creamy mashed potatoes, consider using Yukon Gold potatoes and increase the butter and milk slightly. If you prefer a richer flavor, substitute half of the milk with heavy cream. Adjust the garlic powder and salt according to your taste preference, and feel free to add other seasonings like onion powder or chives for more depth.
