Equipment

  • 1 skillet or pan
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Toaster or oven

Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices Bread
  • 8 slices Pepperoni
  • 4 slices Cheese such as provolone or mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/4 cup Marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the skillet over medium heat.
  • Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • Place two buttered bread slices, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  • Layer each with 4 slices of pepperoni and 2 slices of cheese.
  • Spread a tablespoon of marinara sauce over the cheese on each sandwich.
  • Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the sauce, if using.
  • Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  • Grill the sandwiches for about 2-3 minutes per side or until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Remove from skillet and let cool slightly before cutting in half.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use a skillet that evenly distributes heat for a perfectly crispy sandwich. Experiment with different cheeses and sauces to customize the flavor to your liking. If using an oven, preheat to 375°F and bake sandwiches for 10 minutes, flipping halfway.
