Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups apples peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples and lemon juice.
  • Add granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon to the apples and mix well.
  • Transfer the apple mixture into a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

To enhance the flavors, consider using a mix of tart and sweet apple varieties. You can also add a pinch of nutmeg or cloves to the apple mixture for a spiced twist. Serving the apple crisp warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream will elevate the dessert experience.
