Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour the Bundt pan.
  • In the mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Stir in the applesauce and walnuts, if using.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan.
  • Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

Ensure that all ingredients are at room temperature before starting to help them incorporate more easily. If using walnuts, toast them lightly before adding to enhance their flavor. Serve the cake with a dusting of powdered sugar or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra touch.
