Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Loaf pan or baking dish
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Measuring spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup green onions chopped
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, panko breadcrumbs, and milk.
  • Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, and minced garlic to the mixture.
  • Stir in chopped green onions, beaten egg, cilantro, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
  • Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan or baking dish and shape it into a loaf.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a glaze made of equal parts soy sauce and hoisin sauce on top of the meatloaf during the last 15 minutes of baking. This will enhance the savory taste and give a nice glossy finish. Additionally, you can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version of the dish.
