Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, milk, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, crumbled bacon, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix all ingredients until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into the loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
  • Place the loaf pan on a baking sheet to catch any drips.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  • Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm with your choice of sides.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a glaze on top of the meatloaf by mixing ketchup with a bit of brown sugar and brushing it over the loaf halfway through the baking time. Also, ensure the meatloaf is packed tightly when shaping to help it hold together better when slicing.
