Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Meat thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Add breadcrumbs, ketchup, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the bowl.
  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  • Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, pressing it down to shape it evenly.
  • Place the loaf pan on a baking sheet to catch any drippings.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a juicier meatloaf, avoid overmixing the ingredients, as this can make the meatloaf dense. You can add a layer of additional ketchup or barbecue sauce on top before baking for a glazed finish. To ensure even cooking, make sure the loaf is not too thick in the middle. If you prefer a smokier flavor, consider using smoked bacon.
