Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound bacon chopped
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the chopped bacon in a frying pan until crisp, then drain on paper towels.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked bacon, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, milk, eggs, onion, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  • Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, pressing down gently to shape.
  • Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour.
  • Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

To ensure your meatloaf stays moist, avoid overmixing the ingredients, which can make the meatloaf dense. If you like a bit more flavor, consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the mixture. For a crispy topping, add a thin layer of ketchup on top of the meatloaf before baking.
