Equipment

  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 Medium bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 colander
  • 1 set of tongs

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces linguine pasta
  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions

Instructions

  • Cook the linguine pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, then drain using a colander.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, and lime juice to create the bang bang sauce.
  • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  • Remove the cooked shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add minced garlic, sautéing for 1 minute.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss it in the garlic butter.
  • Return the shrimp to the skillet and pour in the bang bang sauce, tossing everything to coat evenly.
  • Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through, then remove from heat.
  • Allow the pasta to rest for 5 minutes to absorb all the flavors.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For the best results, make sure the shrimp are thoroughly dried before cooking to achieve a nice sear. Adjust the amount of sriracha sauce according to your spice preference, and feel free to add a splash of the pasta cooking water if the sauce seems too thick. This dish pairs well with a crisp salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
