Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 measuring spoon set
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce plus extra for topping
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In the large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk and let them soak for a few minutes.
  • Add the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the soaked breadcrumbs.
  • Mix everything together thoroughly until well combined.
  • Lightly grease the loaf pan with olive oil.
  • Transfer the meatloaf mixture into the loaf pan, pressing it down evenly.
  • Spread a thin layer of additional BBQ sauce on top of the meatloaf for extra flavor.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is no longer pink in the center.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve the meatloaf warm, with additional BBQ sauce on the side if desired.

Notes

For a juicier meatloaf, be sure to use a blend of ground beef and pork, as the pork helps to retain moisture. If you prefer a tangier taste, experiment with different styles of BBQ sauce. Avoid overmixing the ingredients to prevent the meatloaf from becoming dense. If you have leftovers, they can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer preservation.
