  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Measuring spoons set

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 3 clove garlic minced
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 ounces
  • 1 can tomato paste 6 ounces
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
  • Remove beef and set aside, leaving some oil in the pot.
  • Add chopped onion, garlic, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the pot.
  • Cook vegetables until soft, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • Return the browned beef to the pot and mix well with the spices.
  • Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar.
  • Stir everything together and bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and let the chili rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a thicker chili, allow it to simmer uncovered for the last 20 minutes. Adjust the spice level by adding more cayenne pepper or chili powder according to your taste. Serve with toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions for added flavor.
