Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 6-inch round cake pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
  • Let the cake rest and cool completely on the rack for about 1 hour.
  • Once cooled, decorate the cake as desired.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting the recipe. If you prefer a fluffier texture, consider sifting the flour before measuring it. To prevent the cake from sticking, be sure the pan is well-greased and floured.
