Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 9x13 inch baking dish
  • 1 measuring cup set

Ingredients

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 ounces
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix 3.4 ounces
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box vanilla wafers 12 ounces
  • 4 cups sliced bananas

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and cold water, whisking until well blended.
  • Add the instant vanilla pudding mix to the bowl and whisk for about 2 minutes until the mixture is smooth.
  • Cover and refrigerate the pudding mixture for 4 hours or until set.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the chilled pudding mixture using a spatula until fully incorporated.
  • Spread a layer of vanilla wafers in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Place a layer of sliced bananas over the wafers.
  • Spread one-third of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
  • Repeat layering with wafers, bananas, and pudding two more times, ending with a layer of pudding on top.
  • Cover and refrigerate the dish for at least 4 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider using ripe but firm bananas to ensure they hold their shape in the pudding. You can also add a sprinkle of crushed vanilla wafers on top just before serving for added texture. If you prefer a bit of tanginess, try incorporating a layer of sliced strawberries between the layers.
