Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter melted

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  • Cook over medium heat until the mixture begins to simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the simmering blueberry mixture.
  • Cover the saucepan and reduce heat to low, cooking for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  • Remove from heat and let the dumplings rest for 5 minutes.
  • Serve warm, spooning blueberries and dumplings into bowls.

Notes

For best results, ensure that the lid remains on during cooking to properly steam the dumplings. Fresh blueberries work best for this recipe, but frozen ones can be used if fresh are unavailable. Adjust the sugar amount based on the sweetness of the blueberries.
