Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Use your hands to mix the ingredients until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls.
  • Place the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and transfer the sausage balls to a wire rack.
  • Allow the sausage balls to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure the cheese is finely shredded so it incorporates well into the mixture. If you prefer a spicier flavor, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or using hot sausage. These sausage balls can also be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator or freezer, reheating them as needed for a quick breakfast option.
