Ingredients
  

  • 2 large bananas ripe and mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • /4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter, stirring until smooth.
  • Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture and whisk until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently with a spatula until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure the bananas are very ripe, as this will enhance both the sweetness and texture of the bread. If desired, you can add a handful of chopped nuts for extra crunch. When combining the wet and dry ingredients, be careful not to overmix to ensure a moist and tender loaf.
