Equipment

  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 fork or hand mixer
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 8x8-inch (or similar) baking dish
  • 1 measuring cup set
  • 1 measuring spoon set
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 2 cup cooked chicken shredded
  • 226 gram cream cheese softened
  • 120 milliliter hot sauce buffalo-style
  • 120 milliliter blue cheese dressing
  • 120 milliliter sour cream
  • 120 gram blue cheese crumbled
  • 120 gram shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 2 tablespoon green onions sliced for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Add the softened cream cheese, hot sauce, blue cheese dressing, and sour cream to the mixing bowl and beat until smooth.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until evenly combined.
  • Fold the shredded chicken into the mixture until all the chicken is coated.
  • Add the crumbled blue cheese and 90 grams of the shredded mozzarella cheese to the bowl and gently stir to combine.
  • Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and spread it into an even layer with the spatula.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 30 grams of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the dip is bubbly around the edges and the top is lightly golden.
  • Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the dip rest for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions if using and serve warm with chips, celery sticks, or carrot sticks.

Notes

For best flavor, use freshly cooked and still slightly warm shredded chicken so it blends more easily with the cream cheese mixture and absorbs the buffalo sauce, and taste the mixture before baking to adjust heat by adding more or less hot sauce to your liking. You can prepare the dip up to a day ahead, cover and refrigerate it, then add 5–10 minutes to the baking time if baking from cold, and if you prefer a stronger blue cheese flavor, increase the crumbles or swap some of the sour cream for extra blue cheese dressing. Bake the dip in a shallow dish for more browned, bubbly edges, and stir halfway through baking if you want a more even melt instead of a browned top. If the dip thickens too much as it sits, simply stir in a tablespoon or two of warm milk or cream and reheat gently in the oven or microwave until creamy again.
