Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup celery finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, and breadcrumbs.
  • Add the milk, chopped onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic to the meat mixture.
  • Mix in the eggs, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  • Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  • In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and brown sugar, then spread it over the meatloaf.
  • Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For the best flavor, use a homemade or high-quality store-bought Cajun seasoning. If you prefer a spicier meatloaf, increase the amount of hot sauce or add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Remember to handle the meat mixture gently to avoid a tough texture, and consider using a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption.
