Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Wire rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chai spice mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, chai spice mix, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until a dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Cut the dough into desired shapes using cookie cutters.
  • Place the cut dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the biscuits to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the biscuits to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

When rolling out the dough, ensure it's not too thin to prevent the biscuits from breaking. If you don't have a chai spice mix, you can create your own by combining ground cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves. These biscuits store well in an airtight container for up to a week, maintaining their crispness and flavor.
