  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup chai concentrate

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.

  • In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, egg, and chai concentrate.
  • Gradually combine the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the lined cupcake tin.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and let cool in the tin for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer cupcakes to a cooling rack and let them rest for an additional 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

To enhance the chai flavor, consider using a spiced chai concentrate or steeping chai tea bags in the milk before mixing. For a richer taste, you can substitute half of the milk with cream. These cupcakes pair well with a creamy frosting, such as a vanilla or cream cheese frosting, to complement the spices.
