Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground chai tea mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, chai tea mix, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves.
  • Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until well combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

Ensure the butter is fully softened to allow for easy creaming with the sugars. If you prefer a stronger chai flavor, you can add an additional teaspoon of ground chai tea mix. Adjust the spices according to your taste preference—adding more cinnamon or ginger can enhance the overall flavor profile. Store the cookies in an airtight container to maintain their freshness.
