  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Rubber spatula
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Cooling rack
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brewed chai tea cooled
  • 1/4 cup whole milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the chai tea and milk.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, consider adding a chai glaze made with powdered sugar and brewed chai tea to drizzle over the cooled cake. Using freshly brewed chai tea rather than store-bought blends can enhance the spice profile of your cake. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for even mixing and a smooth batter.
