  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  • Pour in the buttermilk and mix until a dough is formed.
  • Use your hands or a large spoon to form the mixture into golf ball-sized balls.
  • Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

  • Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best results, ensure the sausage is well combined with the dry ingredients before adding the buttermilk. This helps in evenly distributing the flavors throughout each ball. Using freshly shredded cheddar cheese rather than pre-shredded can enhance the flavor and texture, as pre-shredded cheese often contains anti-caking agents. Adjust the spice levels by adding more or less of the seasoning based on your preference. Enjoy these sausage balls warm or at room temperature for optimal taste.
