Equipment

  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ribeye steak thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat the skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Sauté the onions and bell peppers until they are soft.
  • Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet and increase the heat to high.
  • Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  • Return the onions and peppers to the skillet and mix with the steak.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the hoagie rolls on the baking sheet and fill each with the steak mixture.
  • Top each sandwich with two slices of provolone cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  • Let the sandwiches rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best flavor, make sure to slice the steak as thinly as possible; freezing it for 30 minutes beforehand can make this easier. Also, using a mix of different colored bell peppers can add both flavor and visual appeal to the dish.
