Ingredients
  

  • 4 cup fresh cherries pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cherries, 1/2 cup of sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the cherry mixture into the baking dish.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, remaining sugar, and salt.
  • Stir in melted butter and milk into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour the batter evenly over the cherry mixture in the baking dish.
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  • Allow the cobbler to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

To ensure a perfect cobbler, make sure the cherries are ripe for optimal sweetness and flavor. You can adjust the sugar to taste, especially if your cherries are particularly sweet or tart. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
