  • 1 tablespoon
  • 1 airtight jar or container

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or a mix
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Add the berries to a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Cook the berries until they start to break down and release their juices, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the honey or maple syrup and lemon juice, and continue cooking for another 3 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and mash the berries to your desired consistency.
  • Stir in the chia seeds until well combined.
  • Let the mixture sit for about 20 minutes to thicken.
  • Transfer the jam to an airtight jar or container and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a smoother jam, you can blend the berries before adding chia seeds. Feel free to adjust the sweetness according to your taste preference, and remember that the jam will continue to thicken as it cools. This jam can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
