Equipment

  • 1 Steamer
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Spoon
  • 1 measuring cup

Ingredients

  • 200 grams chicken breast minced
  • 100 grams shrimp peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 green onion finely chopped
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • water as needed
  • salt to taste
  • white pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine minced chicken, chopped shrimp, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, green onion, salt, and white pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  • Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold to seal, forming a small pouch.
  • Arrange the dimsum in a single layer in the steamer basket.
  • Bring water to a boil in the steamer pot, then reduce to a simmer.
  • Place the steamer basket over the simmering water, cover, and steam the dimsum for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the steamer basket from the pot and let the dimsum rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best results, ensure that the filling is not too wet, as it can make the wonton wrappers difficult to handle. Additionally, be careful not to overstuff the wrappers to prevent them from bursting during the steaming process. If desired, serve the dimsum with a side of soy sauce or chili oil for dipping.
