Chicken Cabbage Soup

  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 sharp knife
  • 1 Cutting board

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound chicken breast diced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups cabbage shredded
  • 2 carrots sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until onion is translucent.
  • Add diced chicken breast to the pot and cook until lightly browned.
  • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  • Add shredded cabbage and sliced carrots to the pot.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and dried thyme.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let the soup rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of lemon juice or a dash of soy sauce just before serving. If you prefer a thicker soup, you can mash some of the vegetables in the pot after cooking. Adjust the seasoning to your taste with additional herbs or spices.
