Equipment

  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 slotted spoon
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 sharp knife
  • 1 tablespoon
  • 1 teaspoon

Ingredients

  • 250 grams ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 1/4 cup scallions chopped
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup bok choy chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and scallions.
  • Place a teaspoon of the chicken mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold in half, and press to seal.
  • Bring a large pot of chicken broth to a boil.
  • Gently add the wontons to the broth and cook for 5-7 minutes until they float to the surface.
  • Add bok choy to the pot and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  • Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir into the soup to thicken.
  • Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Let the soup rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best results, ensure the wonton wrappers are tightly sealed to prevent the filling from leaking during cooking. Adjust the seasoning as needed, and if you prefer a spicier soup, consider adding a dash of chili oil or flakes before serving.
