  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Electric mixer or whisk
  • 1 measuring cup set
  • 1 measuring spoon set
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Wire rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar packed
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes until the cookies are set and slightly cracked on top.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For the best results, make sure your butter is at room temperature to ensure even mixing. If you prefer a softer cookie, reduce the baking time by a minute or two, but keep an eye on them to prevent overbaking. Adding a pinch of espresso powder to the dough can enhance the chocolate flavor without making the cookies taste like coffee.
