  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Measuring spoon
  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and cocoa powder until smooth.
  • Pour the chocolate chip batter into a greased baking dish.
  • Carefully pour the milk and cocoa mixture over the batter without stirring.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  • Let the cobbler rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a gooier cobbler, reduce the baking time slightly and check for doneness with a toothpick. To enhance the flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an indulgent treat.
