Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Spoon
  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 Serving dish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup Green Onions chopped
  • 1/2 cup Black Olives sliced
  • 1 Tomato diced
  • 1 Jalapeño Pepper chopped (optional)
  • 1 bag Corn Chips

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning mix until well blended.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, and sliced black olives.
  • Heat the mixture in a small saucepan over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and transfer the dip to a serving dish.
  • Top with diced tomatoes and chopped jalapeño pepper if desired.
  • Let the dip rest for 10 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  • Serve with corn chips for dipping.

Notes

For a creamier texture, you can substitute cream cheese for half of the mayonnaise. If you prefer a spicier dip, consider adding more jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the mixture. This dip can also be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator, which allows the flavors to develop even more. Just reheat before serving.
