Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a baking dish with butter and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and add minced garlic, cooking for 1 minute.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer, then remove from heat.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish.
  • Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the parmesan cheese.
  • Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and parmesan cheese.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For best results, choose waxy potatoes like Yukon Golds as they hold their shape well during cooking. Ensure the potato slices are of even thickness to cook uniformly. If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, you can increase the amount of garlic or add a dash of garlic powder. Adjust the seasoning to taste and feel free to add additional herbs or spices according to your preference.
