Ingredients
  

  • 4 cup fresh dewberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine dewberries, 1/2 cup of sugar, and lemon juice, then let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract into the flour mixture until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  • Spoon the dewberry mixture evenly over the batter without stirring.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure the dewberries are ripe and sweet to enhance the flavor of the cobbler. You can also add a dash of cinnamon to the batter for a warm spice note. Serve the cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the perfect complement to the tartness of the berries.
