Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup diced fruit apple, pear, or peach
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease the baking pan with butter.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced fruit gently into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

When choosing your fruit, ensure it is ripe but not overly soft to maintain texture in the cake. Additionally, if you prefer a denser cake, reduce the baking powder slightly. For an added twist, consider adding a handful of nuts or a few drops of almond extract to complement the fruit flavors.
