Equipment

  • 1 Small mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk or spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon hot chili oil optional
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon green onions chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Combine the soy sauce and rice vinegar in a small mixing bowl.
  • Add sesame oil and sugar to the bowl and whisk until the sugar dissolves.
  • Stir in the hot chili oil, if using, for extra spice.
  • Add minced garlic and chopped green onions to the sauce.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over the mixture and stir well.
  • Serve immediately with dumplings or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

For an enhanced flavor, consider letting the sauce sit for an hour before serving to allow the ingredients to meld together. You can adjust the level of heat by varying the amount of hot chili oil. For a sweeter sauce, increase the sugar to taste. This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week in an airtight container.
