Equipment

  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 measuring cup set
  • 1 measuring spoon set
  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, eggs, and sugar until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To enhance the flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the batter. For a variation, you can use dark chocolate chips or add chopped nuts for extra texture. Make sure not to overmix the batter to keep the bread light and fluffy. If the top of the bread is browning too quickly, cover it with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
