  • 1 9x13 inch baking dish
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Rubber spatula
  • 1 pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup eggnog
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons eggnog
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggnog and melted butter.
  • Add flour, granulated sugar, yeast, salt, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and egg to the bowl.
  • Mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately 16x12 inches.
  • Spread softened butter evenly over the dough.
  • Combine brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  • Roll up the dough tightly from the long side and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  • Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake the rolls for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Whisk together powdered sugar, eggnog, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

For extra tips, ensure your eggnog is at room temperature to help activate the yeast properly. When rolling out the dough, aim for an even thickness to help the rolls bake uniformly. If you prefer a stronger eggnog flavor, consider using a higher fat content eggnog to enrich the dough and glaze. Enjoy the rolls warm for the best texture and taste.
