Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 sharp knife
  • 1 Small mixing bowl
  • 1 pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 1 Sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 ounces goat cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  • Spread the goat cheese evenly over the puff pastry.
  • Evenly distribute the fig jam over the goat cheese layer.
  • Sprinkle the chopped rosemary over the fig jam.
  • Drizzle honey evenly over the top.
  • Roll the puff pastry tightly into a log.
  • Slice the log into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
  • Place the pinwheels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Mix the beaten egg with water to make an egg wash.
  • Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the egg wash.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure the puff pastry is properly thawed but still cold to prevent it from becoming too sticky. If the pastry becomes too warm during preparation, chill it briefly in the refrigerator before slicing. This will help maintain the shape of the pinwheels.
