Equipment

  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 plate

Ingredients

  • 4 fillet white fish e.g., cod or tilapia
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 leaf lettuce
  • 4 slice tomato
  • 4 tablespoon tartar sauce
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and black pepper.
  • Beat the eggs in a separate bowl.
  • Place the breadcrumbs on a plate.
  • Dredge each fish fillet in the flour mixture, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the breaded fish fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the fish from the pan and let them rest on a paper towel-lined plate for 5 minutes.
  • Toast the hamburger buns lightly in the same pan.
  • Assemble the sandwich by spreading tartar sauce on each bun, adding lettuce, a tomato slice, and a fish fillet.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of lemon juice to your fish before assembling the sandwich. If you prefer spicier sandwiches, try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the flour mixture. Enjoy your fish sandwich with coleslaw or fries on the side for a complete meal.
