Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 pot
  • 1 slotted spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add water and melted butter to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface using a rolling pin to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Cut the dough into small squares or circles.
  • Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  • Drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for 10-15 minutes until they float to the top.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove the dumplings from the pot.
  • Serve hot with your choice of sauce or gravy.

Notes

Ensure the dough is not too sticky or dry by adjusting the water or flour slightly as needed. Kneading the dough well helps achieve a smooth texture, and resting it allows the gluten to relax, making it easier to roll out. Dumplings can be customized with herbs or spices mixed into the dough for added flavor.
