Equipment

  • 1 Skillet or deep fryer
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 plate
  • 1 Tongs
  • 1 paper towel

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 cup pickles sliced
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce, then add the chicken breasts to marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder to create a dredging mixture.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Dredge each marinated chicken breast in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
  • Fry the chicken breasts in the skillet until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes per side.
  • Place the fried chicken on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil and let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Toast the brioche buns lightly on the skillet for a couple of minutes.
  • Spread mayonnaise on each side of the toasted buns.
  • Assemble the sandwich by layering the fried chicken, pickles, and shredded lettuce on the bottom bun, then top with the other half of the bun.
  • Serve the sandwiches warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper to the dredging mixture if you prefer a spicier taste. Additionally, using a meat thermometer can ensure the chicken is cooked to the perfect internal temperature of 165°F. Remember to allow the fried chicken to rest; this helps in keeping it juicy and tender.
