Equipment

  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 colander
  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 Chef's knife
  • 1 Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 400 grams spaghetti
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic butter.
  • Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and continue tossing until the cheese is well incorporated.
  • Season the pasta with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra tips, make sure not to overcook the garlic as it can turn bitter; sauté it just until it becomes fragrant. Also, reserve a cup of pasta water before draining, as you can use it to adjust the sauce's consistency if it becomes too thick. Lastly, feel free to add more Parmesan or a squeeze of lemon juice for extra flavor.
