Equipment

  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Meat thermometer
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Small bowl

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces pork chops bone-in
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Pat pork chops dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, salt, black pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
  • Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the pork chops.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add butter.
  • Once the butter is melted, place the pork chops in the skillet.
  • Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  • Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  • Drizzle lemon juice over the pork chops before serving.

Notes

Ensure the skillet is preheated before adding the pork chops; this helps to sear the meat and lock in the juices. Using a meat thermometer is crucial to avoid overcooking; pork is best when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. Letting the pork chops rest ensures that the juices redistribute, making the meat more tender and flavorful.
