  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Measuring spoons set
  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the Bundt pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in molasses and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk, and stir until just combined.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting to make the batter. This will help in achieving a smooth and even mixture. Additionally, avoid overmixing the batter to maintain the cake's tender crumb. If you prefer a more pronounced spice flavor, you can increase the amount of spices slightly to suit your taste.
