  • 1 8x8-inch baking pan
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 hand mixer or stand mixer
  • 1 Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter over low heat and remove from heat.
  • Stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar into the melted butter until combined.
  • Add eggs one at a time to the mixture, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in vanilla extract until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth.
  • Add egg and tablespoon of flour to cream cheese mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cranberry sauce over the cheesecake mixture.
  • Use a knife to swirl the cranberry and cheesecake mixtures into the brownie batter.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing to achieve a smooth cheesecake layer. Don't overmix the batter to maintain a gooey texture. Adjust the amount of cranberry sauce to taste, depending on how tart or sweet you prefer the swirl to be.
