Greek Sandwich

  • 1 Mixing bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 200 grams grilled chicken breast sliced
  • 100 grams feta cheese crumbled
  • 1 cup cucumber sliced
  • 1 cup tomatoes sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1/4 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the skillet over medium heat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, and lettuce to the bowl and toss until well coated.
  • Place two slices of bread on the cutting board and top each with half of the grilled chicken slices.
  • Evenly distribute the feta cheese over the chicken on both sandwiches.
  • Add the salad mixture on top of the cheese.
  • Place the remaining slices of bread on top to complete the sandwiches.
  • Transfer the sandwiches to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown.
  • Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve immediately.

Notes

To add more flavor to your Greek sandwich, consider using a splash of balsamic vinegar in the salad mixture. Additionally, for a more authentic taste, try using a Greek pita instead of whole grain bread. If you prefer a spicier sandwich, a sprinkle of chili flakes in the salad mixture can add a nice kick.
