  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Measuring spoon

Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 green chilies chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the ground pork and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the chopped green chilies, cumin powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and diced tomatoes.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the pot from heat and stir in the lime juice and fresh cilantro.
  • Let the chili rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider roasting the chilies before adding them to the dish to bring out a smoky depth of flavor. You can also adjust the heat level by adding more or fewer chilies based on your preference. Serve the chili with warm tortillas or over rice for a complete meal.
