Equipment

  • 1 Grill
  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 measuring cup set
  • 1 measuring spoon set
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Ice cream scoop

Ingredients

  • 4 Bananas peeled and halved lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dark rum
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon ground
  • 4 scoops Vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup Pecans chopped and toasted
  • 1/4 cup Caramel sauce

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir in brown sugar, dark rum, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until combined.
  • Place the banana halves on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until grill marks appear.
  • Remove the bananas from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the grilled banana halves on each serving plate.
  • Top each serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Drizzle the warm sauce over the bananas and ice cream.
  • Sprinkle with chopped pecans and caramel sauce.

Notes

Ensure the grill is well-oiled to prevent the bananas from sticking. Adjust the amount of dark rum in the sauce to taste, or omit if preferred. Toasting the pecans enhances their flavor and adds a nice crunch to the sundae. If you don't have access to a grill, a grill pan can be a good alternative.
